Our ESG Commitment

The Cell Group recognizes the vital role of community in driving industry growth and social development, much like the interconnectedness of a beehive. Guided by a strong philosophy of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Group and all its business units actively invest in the communities where they operate, creating lasting impact through diverse social and corporate initiatives.

The Group’s support for FC Platinum Football Club exemplifies this commitment, providing comprehensive medical aid coverage for all teams, including players, coaching staff, and officials, as well as ambulance services for all home matches. This initiative reflects the Group’s focus on health, safety, and well-being within community partnerships.

Stakeholder engagement and multisector collaboration are central to the Group’s CSR approach. Its partnership with the Chamber of Mines for the Annual Conference, Zimbabwe’s premier mining industry event, demonstrates the Group’s dedication to fostering growth, innovation, and development within the mining sector. Similarly, recognizing the strategic importance of ZESA (Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority) to the national economy, the Group sponsors the Annual ZESA Risk Management Awards, which promote best practices in risk management, encourage a culture of risk awareness, and help minimize power supply interruptions for businesses and communities across Zimbabwe.

Investing in the future of Zimbabwean youth is another cornerstone of The Cell Group’s CSR efforts. Since 2014, the Group has partnered with and sponsored various school programs, including the adoption of Gresham Primary School in Zvishavane and Domboramwari High School in Epworth. Through these initiatives, thirty academic scholarships are awarded annually to deserving students from underprivileged backgrounds, while additional support has been extended to Munashe Junior School in Ngezi. The Group also participates in programs designed to educate young people about business, economics, and free enterprise, equipping them with knowledge and skills to make informed career and entrepreneurial decisions.

Through these initiatives, The Cell Group continues to reinforce its commitment to community development, education, health, and industry collaboration, embodying responsible corporate citizenship and fostering positive change across Zimbabwe. By combining strategic sponsorships, educational support, and industry engagement, the Group ensures that its impact is both meaningful and sustainable, benefiting the communities it serves and the broader economy. The Cell Group recognizes the vital role of community in driving industry growth and social development, much like the interconnectedness of a beehive.
